Where I Stand
Although my academic and family background is rooted in art, choosing the title of “artist” for myself was not easy, as I spent many years of adulthood distant from Iran’s formal and professional art scene—years dedicated to the trial and error of truly “being alive.”
Living in Iran means constant action — an inevitable movement between creation and survival. The daily passage from tradition to modernity, cultural conflicts, economic pressures, political currents, and my personal lived experience up to the age of thirty shaped an undeniable path back to art — a way to stay alive and be told.
